Opal Damansara Eyesore

OOooooohhhh this is such an eyesore!!! Yups not really a happy post this time. We spotted this morning where a resident of Opal Damansara was hanging their clothes at the AirCond compressor ledge.

Sigh .. hope they would put a stop to this ... it really cheapens our beautiful Opal Damansara.

Yes, I have seen similar things around our condo. More prevalent on the side that faces Palm Springs. Some even put out their laundry on the balcony! Some others inside their unit - which is fine.

Understandably they want the sunlight to dry their clothes, but house rules are house rules, and since I wasn't allowed to put in grills, then this sort of thing should go away too.

Sigh... that's sad!! Wish something can be done to "remove" all these eye sores away!

Uhm, there's NOTHING u can do about it, i'm sorry but you are living in a community and there bound to be people like this.

Management should be doing something about this.

I find it really irritating when folks don't follow rules...invest in a dryer lor. Very bad. U can see so many along the highway..DRYING AWAY..EYESORE to the MAX!

We should impose some sort of fine to those who have been warned.

Yes we live in this community.....we paid for it to LOOK good too.

actually my friends, you have all signed a deed of mutual covenants, and if you care to read it, somewhere in there, it states that all clothes shall be dried in the allocated area, i.e the drying area.

as such, do take photos of morons who are doing things like this, and send them to your management company. your management has the right to knock on their door and force them to take it down, and even issue a warning. in the event of continuous breach, you can even take legal action against them.

so, what are you waiting for. kick their asses.

This drying clothes at the balcony and etc is so prevalent. Some even dry/sun their comforter there. The Management has not done anything so far. Which is really annoying!

I notice that one unit in Block A has even painted it's grill in a different colour. This unit is visible from the water feture area. I have photographs of this unit and i have informed the Management about it. Yet nothign has been done. I wonder why the Management has not issue them a warning to repaint the grill. Or just withhold the deposit paid for renovation. So much for all the threats.

Yea! lots of comments. Good and healthy discussions. Well some people got thick skins - thicker than a croc. So what should we do with such people - skin them alive???

I am reasonable. I accept drying in the "aircond compressor ledge" not overhanging the ledge and -no where else. Definitely not in the balcony area unless it is a low portable clothes airer which cannot easily be sighted from the outside. Got to IKEA to buy one of these - cheap and practical.

I accept we want to dry our clothes and not wear damp smelly ones. One of you mentioned a "drying area".?? I am not aware on one - please tell me where it is located.?? - has to be out of the rain, sheltered and not an eye sore??

OR.

Push Prop Management to get the LAUDRETTE up and going and hope all of you will support it and have your clothes dried there. Before I even finish - this sentence, I hear complaints "Too costly -lah". So what is the solution???

rules are rules lah dudes. if the rules say you can only dry your clothes in the "drying area", then so be it. if you don't get sun there, buy a dryer.

the "drying area" is just outside your kitchen, probably where your washing machine is located.

as for the laundrette, if my clothes can dry in my drying area (i actually took the trouble to make sure of this before buying), why should i pay money to someone to do the same thing? that would make me stupid, no?

the bottom line is simple, no drying, sunning or airing of big ugly things on the balcony.

Hi! JACKSON,

I like your style -NO NONSENSE. You are obviously one who likes the finer things in life - one who has graduated, probably from overseas. Hence you have experience and seen the living standards and behaviour of the "upper echelon of society" and would want a good standard of living. Good on you.

I would like to share with you the same ideals but knowing Malaysian "tiada apa" attitude - it might be difficult to get everyone to come up to yours or for that matter, mine idea of a "perfect" condo living 'paradise enviroment".

I think we should nominate you as CEO - Chief Enforcement Officer - with a whip and a skinning knife - whip those who transgress and skin those who persist in flouting the rules. Make a go of it - we may yet succeed.

As for the Laudrette -obviously the person who opt to run it hopes to make a "nominal return" on his/her investments. It is noble of you wanting to save money but with your good job and mega bucks wherein your cuppa comes from Starbucks - what is a few bucks amongst friends - "tak kira mate!". If we want a complete set up with the Laundrette, we need to patronise it every now and then to keep it alive and going -otherwise it will be a vacant eyesore.

Cheers & Regards to ALL
