Rectification Works - Swimming Pool & Walkway

Yups, we received a second notice informing us residents that the Pool will be delayed until 15 April and the Walkway until 12 April 2008.

Here's a brief update based on the the walkaround we did today around the Opal facilities.

POOL & WALKWAY UPDATE

IMAG0159

The entire pool is cordoned off with red and white strips.

IMAG0160

Today, the pool was extremely DRY.

All the water has been sucked out and rectifcation was done.

IMAG0161 IMAG0165

Rectangular tiles that run alongside the pool has been changed.

You can see the coloring of the new tiles. The old and broken

ones were used as "weight" for the red/white cones.

IMAG0163

Suprisingly a box of TILES for the pool was left by the poolside.

Guess the workers forgot about it.

IMAG0164 IMAG0162

An ALL DRIED UP Pool.

IMAG0170

The walkaway from the Carpark to Block A & B are also

undergoing some rectification.

IMAG0169

The White & Black pebbles have all been removed.

In replacement, we can see cement being poured into the fillings.

IMAG0168

Work is still not completed yet. Doubt that they can

finish the work by tomorrow, 12 April (as per the notice)

IMAG0167

Lot of "fillings" are still empty and without cement.

IMAG0166

I hope the steps on the walkway will be flatten too

so that you can walk straight and uninterrupted.

And it will be much easier to navigate a pram, a wheelchair,

a trolley or even a shopping basket. Let's see what comes out at the end.

The cement really looks ugly, and I guess its annoying because they never pre-empt us before works are done, and always while they have already begun doing it..

Hello! Joyce,

Has the renovation work on the swimming pool been completed??? I presume that you refer to the cement strip between the concrete slaps when you said "really looks ugly"??? Perhaps you could bring this up to Nancy and see if she can have colourful mosaics inlaid in the "ugly cement" to make it more colourful.

Frankly, my wife and I preferred the pebbles which were there before - something different - but I suppose we go by the "majority preference"

Cheers

Dear All,

Please be informed that the contractor will replace the faulty data card of the abovementioned if not by end of this
week, latest by early next week.

The Pool has been rectified and should be re-open by Friday if not latest by Saturday. There has been a delay in
rectification works for the walkways due to bad wheather and targetted to be completed by mid next week.

In addition, there are some contractors working on the roof of the recently constructed awnings for the car parks
near the badminton court and they are also constructing the awning of another car park bay which was left out earlier.

Regards

Nancy
